So if you’re a mind to support this event simply ring the Club on 6889 1164 to enter or wander up the Club before 1pm Saturday and “Plonk” your name down on the nomination form, which of course is attached to the Club’s Bowls Notice Board.
Speaking of the Club’s Notice board? That also is the place where the Nomination List for the upcoming “FINO” Day and Club A grade Triples resides and again intending players should check these two flyers out and make sure they don’t miss out of what are traditionally great events.
Social bowls this week saw smallish fields go round on Thursday and Sunday, with perhaps the weather having a bit to do with it, but for those who did participate in the bowling activities. It certainly wasn’t gloom and doom for some at least.
On Thursday Clifton Harris, Phil Harding and Don Sullivan put the sword to Richard, Bob and Danny, thrusting their way up to the podium courtesy of a 28/12 win and some 16 points.
Sunday saw Danny redeem some pride when he and partner Kevin McDonald got the win and all the chocolates on offer thanks to a solid 15/08 win over Ronnie and Bill.
Our Annual General Meeting has been gazetted for Sunday 23rd September at 10am, and hopefully by the time this column hits the stands, all positions on the Board of Management will be filled.
Congratulations to Aaron Clark, Sam Crook and Robbie Stanford on their play last weekend at the State Inter-Zone Sides Championships held at Wagga.
All three Players had stellar performances over the two days, especially Aaron’s Saturday Afternoon effort, which saw him awarded the Coach’s MVP.
Our Zone representative squad performed above expectations, and whilst defeated by the eventual State Champions from Zone 12 certainly weren’t overawed by the names, and it augers well for the future of our Zone Rep Teams.
