Gardens spring open for cancer
Despite drought gripping the state ten Narromine and Trangie Shire gardens are opening their gates in support of the Narromine Cancer Support Group.

With only two weeks left until the open day on September 14, the ten gardeners are looking skyward for some welcome rain.
‘Kirkton’, ‘Bokhaera’, 90 Warren road, ‘Glen Haven Park’ and 115 Mirgah Street of Narromine, and ‘Yarraman’, ‘Old Cathundral’, ‘Muntham’, 15 Albert street, 16 Campbell street and 29 Weemanah street of Trangie will be open to the public from 9.30am until 5pm.

Fran Crawford said the gardens on show are an assortment of wonderful cottage gardens, perfect native gardens and delightful rambling country gardens.
“Gardeners will be available on the day to share with you some of their gardening remedies, knowledge and how they have established certain areas and plants,” Mrs Crawford said.
“The gardeners are looking forward to sharing with you their very own ‘oasis for life’ and hope you enjoy your visit.”
“What wonderful therapy, for all those visitors enduring such a dry time at present,” she said.
Entry is $20 per person with all proceeds being donated to the Narromine Shire Cancer Support Group.
Geoff Swane will be talking ‘all things roses’ at Muntham from 11am until 2pm.
Morning and afternoon tea, lunch and a barbeque are available as well as various stall providers in the gardens.
