Member for Dubbo Troy Grant announced $1.5 million in funding to breathe new life into community and local sporting facilities in the town through round two of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
Narromine Shire Council secured NSW Government funding for four projects, which include upgrades to swimming pools and other facilities within the shire.

Mr Grant said the money will allow for improved recreational facilities in Narromine, Trangie and Tomingley.
“The NSW Government is proud to be able to issue this money to Narromine Shire Council for a number of projects that will be of immense benefit to communities within the shire,” Mr Grant said.
“With this funding upgrades will be made to improve safety at the town pool, and there will be other amenities constructed.
The projects catered for through the funding are:
- $900,000 for Narromine Aquatic Park refurbishment and splash park
- $203,788 for compliance upgrades to Narromine and Trangie town swimming pools
- $267,981 for Narromine, Trangie and Tomingley streetscapes
- $196,348 for enhancing Burns Oval, Trangie
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the roll out of the second round of projects takes Stronger Country Communities funding to $300 million.
“I congratulate Narromine Shire Council and look forward to the local sports and community facility improvements that will make the region an even more attractive place to work and raise a family,” Mr Barilaro said.
