About 6.45am emergency services were called to Algalah Street after reports of a crash involving a motorcycle.
Officers arrived and located the rider, an 18-year-old man, deceased, NSW Police reported.
Inquiries suggest the vehicle had collided with a wire fence.
A crime scene was established which is being examined by forensic specialists.
Live Traffic NSW is advising motorists the Mitchell Highway is closed in both directions.
There is a diversion in place along Manildra and Culling streets.
Police from Orana/Mid-Western Police District have started inquiries into the incident and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Algalah Street runs north-south through the geographic heart of Narromine.
The state’s road toll for 2018 until Thursday October 11 stood at 292 deaths, with 273 fatal crashes, NSW Centre for Road Safety statistics show.
Among those were 42 motorcylists, 146 drivers, 42 passengers, 54 pedestrians and eight pedal cyclists.
