The Narromine Hospital Auxiliary in conjunction with Narromine Community Health and with the sponsorship of the Department of Family and Community Services held the annual Grandparents day on Friday October 12.

The day was opened by Councillor Dawn Collins and then the festivities began.
There were a number of Community Services represented and available to give advice to those who needed it, as well as community stall holders including: garden ornaments and plants, to cake stalls, a barbeque, and a sweet stall. Fun activities were also available from Bric a Brac, and knock ‘em down and sand tins and face painting and balloons for fun.

The guessing of jellybeans went to Mrs Bluett.
The entertainment was provided by local singer Dick Carney and Cody Neave on the sound system, and the Irish Dancers who got the feet tapping with their lively music and dancing.
The Little Big Shots Talent Quest was enjoyed by all and the talent that was on display was wonderful. The judges had a very hard job and after some serious discussion it was decided that the contestants were too close to call resulting in a three way placing for first.
The Winners were: Tyler, Samuel and Zaden with second place going to Jayden, Lacey, Lyndon and Mitchell. Third place went to Emma and grandma.
The oldest Grandparent on the day was Jenny Van Den Hoof.
First place in the 100 Club went to Coral Jackson, second went to Coral Jackson, second was Sharon Carney and third place went to Judy Shannon.
