While Australia Day means different things to different people, it is a day that welcomes everyone to reflect on their Australian experience – their past, present and future.
Narromine Shire Council Mayor Craig Davies is encouraging the community to come along to join in the celebrations, and to meet Trangie’s 2019 Australia Day ambassador Fiona Nash.
“Known for her political contributions to regional Australia, we are very excited to welcome Fiona Nash to Trangie and show her how the locals like to celebrate our national day,” Cr Davies said.
“During her political career, her ministerial appointments included Assistant Minister for Health, Minister for Rural Health, Minister for Regional Development, Minister for Regional Communications and Minister for Local Government and Territories.”
The night promises to be a great success with activities that the whole family can enjoy including live music.
To add to the Australia Day celebrations, the council will be funding pool entry at both Narromine and Trangie Pools to all patrons between 11am and 3pm on Australia Day, January 26.
“Australia Day is an opportunity for our community to come together in the spirit of friendship and harmony, showcasing the unique and diverse culture that makes us Australian,” Cr Davies said.
“I would like to encourage everyone from the Trangie community to come down to the Trangie USMC and be part of our special celebrations this Australia Day,” he said.
