Ms Brown has been named as the Narromine 2019 Citizen of the Year.
Hundreds of foster kids have been cared for by Ms Brown and her husband Kevin.
“I’ve had kids come and go but most of mine come and stay. We couldn’t have our own kids way back then so we decided to give fostering a try and loved it,” she said.
“It’s hard work but there's a lot of kids out there who need homes and help.”
As well as being a foster parent, Ms Brown also volunteers at the Narromine Christian School, the 25 Club and the Mudyigalang Craft Group. She also does the window display at the Mudyigalang shop to raise money and awareness of cancer.
Her citation said: “if you need help, Robyn will come. She always outs others before herself”.
As someone who likes to stay in the background, Ms Brown said it was very overwhelming and very surprising to be given the award. She said she enjoyed volunteering and found it fun.
Her biggest achievement? “Watching the kids get through school, get a job and get out there in the world,” she said.
