He explained to the Narromine News that an overnight visitor staying in regional New South Wales contributes about $130 to the local economy, and a day visitor almost $120.
With this estimate, for a three-day festival with an estimation of about 1000 people, it would mean a $450,000 spend within the shire.
Chairperson of the festival committee Susie Rae said plans are underway to incorporate both Trangie and Tomingley into the festival as well.
Mr Johnson said the council are backing the festival 100 percent and will offer support to help the committee.
"The cumulative effect is fantastic and obviously in dry times it's particularly very welcome," Mr Johnson said.
"I've been talking to one of the caravan parks and they've certainly had inquires and bookings for April next year, and we've had some calls at the shire about opportunities for food vendors.
"Already there's plenty of people are inquiring about further detail."
"Good on the committee for putting it forward, I think it's going to be very fantastic and we'll be working very closely with the committee as it progresses."
