About 1.15am on Tuesday, March 12 a blue Ford sedan collided with the front fence of a residence at the intersection of Algalah and Merringo Streets in Narromine.
The fence was extensively damaged and it is believed that three occupants of the vehicle ran from the scene.
Narromine Police attended the scene within minutes and spoke with several witnesses.
However police are appealing for anybody who either witnessed, or may have information to assist police, to come forward.
Police are particularly interested in residences with CCTV cameras or vehicles in the area with dash camera footage from around the time of the incident to contact Narromine police.
"From our initial investigations, we believe that the vehicle has travelled east along Merringo Street at high speed, before turning and crashing at the intersection with Algalah Street," Narromine Police Sergeant Michael Smith said.
"The three occupants of the vehicle are believed to have run south along Algalah and Manildra Streets, towards the train line.
"We have also received information that a second vehicle, a dark coloured utility, may have been present at the time."
Police have seized, searched and examined the vehicle as part of the investigation.
