Police said the watch was located at a recreational facility in the Narromine shire within the last nine months.
The watch has 'Michael - love mum and dad 2.11.99' engraved on the inside face.
Narromine Police Sergeant Michael Smith said they are hoping they can return the item to it's rightful owner.
"This item appears to have been a gift, and as such would hold some sentimental value to it's owner and their parents," Sergeant Smith said.
"For those reasons alone, I would like to do all we can to get it back to it's rightful owner."
