TAG treasurer Andrew Cayzer said the committee have an investment account where money from groups that have folded over the years they hold in trust to use for the betterment of the community.
"In the past we've just rolled the interest over year after year, so this year we thought we just don't want money sitting idle, so what better way to put this money to use by investing in our youth," he said.
"This is going to be on a yearly basis, so this year was $1000 and each year will depend on the interest raised.
"This is the first year, and then each June we will look at how much interest we've earned over the year and donate that amount."
