Trangie's Andrew Cayzer presented the money raised from his cotton gin tours to the hospital auxiliary president Pam Ferarri on Wednesday.

Mr Cayzer, owner of the Trangie Caravan Park began tours of the local Auscott cotton gin to show the public not only how the cotton is grown and processed, but how important cotton is to the Australian economy.

Not only have the daily tours to the local gin increased visitor numbers staying within the community, is has helped stimulate the local economy for businesses and employment.

He said that while the tours are free for those staying in the town, he opened up the tours to those passing through, for simply a gold coin donation.

"We've had our money tin out there and we've raised nearly $600 ...from visiting people form all over the area," Mr Cayzer said.

The money will go toward purchasing much needed items for the Trangie hospital.

Mr Cayzer thanked Auscott for allowing him to do the daily tours.

"It's really good that Auscott have allowed that to happen. They're very community minded, allowing people to come out and see the gin in operation," he said.

"A big thank you to Sam and his team at Auscott for allowing us to do daily tours which brings visitors to our town."
