Three months after he was elected, state Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders has been given a new job and pay rise.

Mr Saunders will chair a NSW parliamentary committee that examines how the Ombudsman, Law Enforcement Conduct Commission and Crime Commission operate.

The additional responsibilities, given to him by the government he is a member of, mean Mr Saunders is entitled to an extra $20,634 on top of his current $165,066 base salary.
He is now expected to take home $185,700 a year for his work.
The extra $20,634 Mr Saunders is entitled to because of his committee chair appointment consists of a $10,317 salary and $10,317 expense allowance.
Every Liberal and National member of parliament has now been given a promotion by their government.
"It's a bit of a rort I think," state Member for Orange Phil Donato said.
"I don't think that it's right first time parliamentarians should be chairing committees.
"For what they do extra is hardly worth the pay they are getting extra."
The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers representative will also receive about an extra $4865 to be a member of the Committee on Investment, Industry and Regional Development.
Mr Donato said he wanted to be on a committee to gain extra experience and knowledge.
A government spokesman told the Sydney Morning Herald every Coalition MP was "working hard for their community and for the entire state".
Interim Opposition Leader Penny Sharp claimed the "largesse" was unprecedented.
Mr Saunders declined to comment.
