While the rainfall across the central west earlier this week would have boosted spirits, farmer's are reminded that we are not out of the woods just yet.

Areas across the region recorded anywhere between five to 15 millimetres (mm).
Western areas such as Nyngan, Coonamble and Condobolin received little to no rain, centrally falls of 5-10mm were recorded but patchy in distribution, Central West Local Land Services Team Leader Agricultural Services Neroli Brennan said.
"Our eastern areas of Wellington, Dunedoo and Coonabarabran received falls of between 10- 15mm," she added
"This rain is enough to settle the dust in some areas but not significant enough to signal any change to our current drought conditions with warmer, windy conditions expected to negate the rainfall within a day or so."

Some crops would have benefited from these rainfall events, Ms Brennan said, which will be important for crops currently filling grain.
"However, follow up rainfall will still be necessary for most of these crops to make harvest," she said.
"The crop growing areas in our southern area including Parkes, Forbes and Grenfell and Lake Cargelligo did not receive rainfall."
Ms Brennan said were the rain has lifted spirits slightly, but it doesn't signal an end to the dry period yet.
"As we head into spring and predictions of a very hot, dry summer, I would be advising people to remain prepared for further dry conditions," she explained.
