A Facebook group 'Fifth Wheeling Around Australia' drove into town last week with 25 vans and 50 people, stopping for the week.

Owner of the Trangie Caravan Park Andrew Cayzer, also a member of the group, said the visit was a much needed boost to the community, which saw the visitors from across Australia spending $30,000 in the town.

From shopping at the butcher, bakery, IGA and having dinner at the towns clubs Mr Cayzer said their visit has boosted many drought-affected spirits.

"I never expect they'd spend so much in the town either, but they kept their receipts and counted it all up and it was $30,000 in the town itself," he said.

"It's been a big influx of cash into the town, and new dollars which is what you need.

"It's been very, very successful ... and obviously the big thing has been the community spirit like the people, moral support for people in the country."

The visitors enjoyed a happy hour each evening hosted by the caravan park, which included guest speakers from the community such as local poet Maggie Gordon, Deb Irving and her historical knowledge, Col Hamilton from the council and Mr Cayzer himself delivering the cotton talk.

"The whole community got involved from the council Rob McCutcheon welcomed them to the bowling club on Thursday night, Jack James donated his big school bus to run them all out for dinner, so it was just one after another," Mr Cayzer said.

As the drought continues to take a hold, the group on their final day also donated $4000 worth of non-perishable items to the CWA to be distributed throughout the community.

Alan Low from the group expressed a "heartfelt thanks" for the welcome they received from the entire town.

"In our 19 years on the road, we have visited some lovely outback towns and without exception found them to be friendly and inviting," he said.

"Everyone is quick with a smile and a 'g'day' as you walk up the street as opposed to the head down indifference you see in the cities.

Mr Low also thanked Andrew and Deb Cayzer for hosting them.
