Members of the Isolated Children's Parent Association (ICPA) Central West Plains branch held their AGM in Trangie recently.
The 13 members gathered at the Studio on Dandaloo Street on Wednesday, November 6.
The gathering saw the return of the existing executive committee which included president Judith Bryant; secretary Sandra Hewett, treasurer Sally Quigley, and vice presidents Ruth Maxey and Jane Baker.
General business included discussion regarding the recent State Council deputation meetings with many Government and Education entities in Sydney, preschoolers bus travel, federal and state education allowances, drought subsidies that can be used for education expenses, tertiary scholarships, and the ICPA State and Federal conferences in 2020.
A very special presentation of life membership was given to president Judith Bryant which recognised her depth of involvement with ICPA since 2011. This includes four years serving on ICPA NSW State Council from 2013 to 2016.
It takes a huge amount of voluntary time and dedication to represent and lobby for the education needs of rural and remote children.
