Men's Bowling
Another Dusty week of Bowls to report on, with Just the social variety played this week up at the "Bowly".
Firstly to Thursday where some ten players brave the ordinary conditions, and at days end it was the duo of Noel Delboux and Danny Carnevale who got the chocolates, courtesy of a strong 23/12 win over Richard and David.
In the other Match Clifton Harris, Anthony Jermyn, and Terry McDonal just out lasted Des Lincoln, Bob Davis and Visitor Matt Goodwin 15/10.
The Jackpot remained its normal elusive self and so will be a few for dollars to be won next Thursday.
Sunday Morning's Chook run resulted in Lionel Ayoub and Bill Wilie taking home the bacon, or should that be Chook, after the Referee considered them the days best performed team with a score of 13 + 7 winning points and margin.
In second spot was the formidable Triples combination of Ross Edden, Danny Carnivale and Peter Payne just one point back on 12 points, with "Puddy" and "Buttsy" having to settle for a Draw on their CV after their titanic battle with Kevin Short and David McNair.
This coming weekend sees our Club Challenge Team of Garry Raines, Arnold Gillespie, Steve Buttsworth, Ross Edden, Danny Carnevale, Peter Payne and Manager David McNair off to Warrilla to contest the "BLUE" Division of this state Championship.
We wish the lads good bowling and who Knows we might have to put another picture up after the weekend, that would be Nice.
Nominations for the 2020 Pennant season are slowly but surely coming in, but it would be handy if those intending playing for Narromine in 2020 jump in and "PLONK" your name down on the said Nomination sheet before Christmas, to enable the selectors to Pick some teams and arrange some Trial Matches.
Presentation Day has been scheduled for Sunday, December 22 and hopefully, we will get most of the Champions there and a goodly bunch of members as well so we can properly acknowledge our 2019 Championship Winners.
Again the nomination sheet for this event with the days agenda has been posted on the Club Notice Board and to help for catering purposes it would help if those intending Playing, or simply having Lunch and attending the Presentations would put their names down sooner rather than Later.
The Month of December is certainly going to be a busy one, with most of the action happening in the Club-House. The Raffle committee have planned a number of special and bonus raffles in conjunction with the usual faire.
So starting this Thursday, December 5 we have a little bonus raffle for members only, and it will not cost you a cent to be in it.
You simply have to be in the Club-house at around 7.30pm and if your badge number is called out you could one of the "Super Dooper" Prizes on offer, including a Bar Fridge, a Canoe and or a Fire Pit.
Following up this little Bonus Raffle will be our Annual "HAMS" Raffle on Thursday, December 12 where the normal raffle steps aside and in Jumps some 25 Hams to be won.
Tickets go on sale around 6.30pm, with the draw to commence shortly after 7pm and just when you thought it couldn't get any better on Thursday, December 19 we will have two lots of Raffles, firstly the normal "STUFF", followed by the Schooner draw.
So plenty to look forward to and it's not finished yet, with the normal month end bonus meat tray draws programmed for Boxing Day and Karaoke with Maurice Locked and Loaded for New Year's Eve.
"Whew" hope I get through the month unscathed, it going to be a Biggy. Well that's it for me for another week, hope to see you up at the "Bowly", where it's all Happening.

Gerries Golf
Two matches this week! In a little change from the usual procedure, the Gerries played two competitions in the last week, one on Thursday and one on Saturday.
The Thursday's men competition attracted a field of nine in pleasant conditions for golf. Winner on the day was Malcolm "Boof" Fraser with a great score of 25 Stableford points. A welcome return to form for Malcolm.
Runner up in a two way count back was Steve Squires with 21 points from Peter Gainsford also on 21 points.
There was no NTP comp winner on Thursday while John Butcher claimed the NAGA prize on 18 points.
The scores were pretty close indicating the course was in good condition thanks to the team of volunteer workers who do a great job preparing the track in difficult conditions.
On Saturday morning seven ladies took on the front nine whilst thirteen men battled with the back nine. In the ladies event two players tied on 22 points, with Vicki Gainsford taking the trophy from Dale Harding on a count back.
There was no winner in the ladies NTP which now jackpots to next week.In the mens event Gus Smith emerged as the winner with 22 points from John Butcher on 21"Butch" defeated Terry Willis on a count back as he also had 21.
Good to see all three back in the winners circle.Easy to see how long it takes to return to a reasonable handicap after incurring the wrath of the handicapper.
There was no winner in the NTP competition and the prize now jackpots to next week. The NAGA went to Alan Kearines.
On the pool table,Ross King and Chris Harding defeated and Mal Richardson and Gus Smith in the preliminary match. They advanced to the final against Greg Kearines and Terry Willis.
This was a titanic struggle in which Kearines in the end, knocked in the black to claim victory and the title of weekly Champs for the week.In all a pretty big week for the Gerries.
The competition now reverts to Saturday morning with the hit off at 9am with the ladies on the back nine and the men on the front. Hope the dust stays away this week. See you all at the 19th.
Racing
Ricky Blewitt who rode Frenzied to victory in the Bong Bong Picnic Cup last week had further success at Narromine on Thursday as the part owner of Bansuri, winner of the 1600 metres Class 1 and Maiden Plate.
Unlike his counterparts in the professional ranks, Blewitt as a Picnic jockey is allowed to be an owner and he races Bansuri with his partner, Narromine trainer Kylie Kennedy.
Threatening to win a race for some time, Bansuri finally broke through after 32 starts had yielded eight placings but no wins.
Bansuri ( Clayton Gallagher, $15 ) finished fast on the rails from midfield for a three way photo finish win over Ticket To El Aye ( Angela Cooper, $26 ) and A Krupt Pick ( Daniel Northey, $12 ).
All three place getters are trained at Narromine, by Kylie Kennedy, Terry Fulwood, and Wayne Collison, respectively.
Owned by former jockey Andy Lordan and trained at Narromine by ex jockey Justin.W.Stanley, You Know Zon also broke through for an initial win after 12 placings from 37 starts.
Gaining a rails run, You Know Zon ( Billy Cray,$21 ) edged out Harabel ( Daniel Northey, $21 ) and Electrostep ( Tony Cavallo,$10 ), the margins being a nose by a nose in the 800 metres AG N VET Maiden Plate.
Forbes trainer Dennis Bush after recent wins by stable star Molasses had a win at Narromine with Yeas And Nays in the 800 metres Narromine Hardware Benchmark 58 Handicap.
Owned by the Taylor family from Sydney, Yeas And Nays ( Mathew Cahill, $16 ) maintained a slender lead to beat Maria Elisa ( Tiffany Jeffries, $11 ) by a short head with Cannizzaro ( Angela Cooper, $19 ) a nose away third.
Honest mare Lulu's Destiny ( $3.50 favourite ) bred and owned by David Ringland from Dubbo and trained at Nyngan by Rodney Robb led throughout to win the Ag Auto Spark Benchmark 58 Handicap ( 1300 metres ) from The Long Run ( Ashleigh Stanley, $5.50 ) and Yu Long Sheng Hui ( Grant Buckley, $8.50 ).
Daniel Northey was responsible for a nice ride when the Rod Northam, Scone trained Valree ( $6 ) swept past a good field to win the Rushweld Engineering Open Handicap ( 1300 metres ) while Athena's Lad ( Tony Cavallo,$7.50 ) trained at Wellington by Michael Mulholland for Kel Turner from Dubbo made an impressive debut when working home strongly to win the 1300 metres Alan Lloyd Memorial Maiden Handicap.
Other winners were the Darren Hyde, Dubbo trained Mr Epic ( Andrew Banks,$9 ) and Northern Conqueror ( Ashley Morgan, $5.50 ) trained at Mudgee by Bob Howe.
The well attended funeral for Peter "Wacky " Pennell was held at Coonamble on Saturday." Wacky" from Carinda, was a well liked owner and trainer with some of his winners over recent years including the good sprinter Princess Pachara, Sword Fighter, Cannizzaro and Knights Honour.
Some of his wins were achieved at far flung tracks when he enjoyed trips away to remote parts of Australia with Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb and other owners and trainers.
Mudgee Cup is on this Friday with Wellington to race next Monday, the meeting having been transferred from Dubbo due to water shortage caused by the drought.
