President of the Narromine Rotary Club Nesto Falcioni said it's been a hard decision but thanked the community for their support.

"We regret the decision that we've had to make, but it's one of those things it wasn't being supported anymore," he said.

"We'd like to thank the many stall holders who have come along, and also the supporters over the years."

The Rotary club took over running the monthly markets from Vision Australia almost 10 years ago, but on November 24, closed for good.

Mr Falcioni said there were a number of reasons for the closure, including lack of stall holders available and dwindling numbers.

"We thought we would keep it going, which was alright until the last couple of years, in which they gradually went downhill," Mr Falcioni said.

"I think most little towns and bigger towns are finding that [markets] are no longer being supported as they used to be, which is just a sign of the times.

"We certainly regret the decision we've had to make, but it's just one of those inevitable things that just had to come to an end.

"But I thank the community and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas."
