Lions Club Narromine reflect on 2019

The Lions Club of Narromine wish everyone a very happy, healthy, prosperous and wet 2020.

"Thank you once again for the wonderful support the people of Narromine have given our club in 2019," the club said.

"Our Christmas raffle was a huge success and we congratulate our winners."

First prize was a baby webber barbecue won by Bob Laukka, second was a Christmas hamper won by Leonie McDonald. Third prize was a $100 fuel Voucher won by Judy Wheeler.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank Duff Butchery for their donation of the ham towards our hamper and Mark Bourchier for donating the fuel voucher," the club said.

The Mother's Day raffle will begin in April, and this year the Lions branch are considering a Father's Day raffle in August.

Lions also had a successful Trivia Night at the Bowling Club last November, and the club would like to thank the Bowling Club manager and staff for organising this event for the charities of Narromine.

A wonderful initiative and already has raised thousands of dollars for various charities.

Congratulations to Lion member Rita Whitbread who was awarded the Melvin Jones award and presented to her by second vice president Tom Parry on his and wife Barbara's visit to Narromine in November 2019.

Congratulations to Carolyn Egan for receiving her 10-year membership award, Patrick White receiving his 20-year membership award and Bob Davis for receiving his 40-year membership award.

"Our community has suffered a devastating year battling the drought and now our whole country is suffering tragically from fires," the club said.

Lions Australia has launched a National Bushfire Appeal to help those who have been impacted.

"Our thoughts are with all families impacted at this sad time," the club said.
