It's exciting news for expecting mothers in the Trangie and Warren region with a new midwifery service starting this year.

The new service will start at the Multipurpose Services in both towns from February, and will provide antenatal and postnatal care services to local mothers and families.
Trangie and Warren Health Service Manager Sharon Ryan said the new service would operate regularly providing services in Warren three weeks a month, and one week a month in Trangie.

"Care for women will be provided through the Rural Maternity Service and Dubbo Antenatal Clinic," she said.
"This service will work in partnership with other Health Service's and provide support for women who choose to birth outside of Dubbo."
Women who want to see the Rural Maternity Service in either Warren or Trangie for their care can contact the Warren Hospital on 6847 5400 to organise an appointment.
Ms Ryan said the Warren and Trangie Multipurpose Services will remain non-birthing facilities through this change in service.
