Royal Far West has rescheduled its iconic three-day Ride for Country Kids from May to September 2020.

While this date is locked in, the health and safety of the communities on the route, the riders, crew and staff are of paramount concern, and the situation will be regularly monitored.

The route remains unchanged, with 80+ riders cycling from Dubbo to Cobar, via Narromine and Nyngan, bringing cheer and some fun to these hard-hit regions.

Riders also provide financial support by staying in local accommodation, engaging local food suppliers and enjoying experiences in the towns.

Royal Far West's CEO Lindsay Cane AM said while coronavirus may have delayed the Ride, it hasn't reduced the demand for our specialised services.

Some of our dedicated riders have already raised significant funds, and these will be immediately put to work to directly support the developmental and mental health of these precious children in regional communities," Ms Cane said.

Previous charity rides have seen riders travel through remote areas of western NSW, including at Lighting Ridge, Walgett, Brewarrina, and Bourke.

More than 100,000 country kids with developmental and health needs cannot access the support they need because of where they live, and Ride for Country Kids was created to directly raise funds for these children.

These kids and families need support now more than ever, as many have endured relentless drought and devastating bushfires, and now face daunting uncertainty due to COVID-19.
