Community organisations and not-for-profit groups in the Narromine shire have been invited to apply for financial assistance for the 2020/21 financial year.

Applications will be considered for capital projects, operating expenses, annual donations and rates assistance for up to $5,000.
To be eligible, the groups must demonstrate a substantial degree of community support and representation and must also be able to explain how the funding would benefit the shire.

Narromine Shire Council's general manager Jane Redden said due to the number of requests from community organisations throughout the year, council decided to consider requests for donations, sponsorships and the waiving of council fees and charges through an annual application process.
"Last year, council supported seven groups totalling over $15,000 in support for the financial year," Ms Redden said.
"Successful groups from 2019/2020 included Mudyigalang, Narromine Rescue Squad, Rotary Club of Narromine, Narromine CWA, Trangie CWA, Narromine Pony Club, Deadly Dragonfliez Netball Club and Trangie Amateur Swimming Club."
The applications will be considered by the councillors at the September meeting before the successful applications are determined.
Applications close on Friday, August 28. They must be completed in full and include the relevant attachments as requested.
Applications can be found on the Narromine Shire Council website or can be obtained from council's customer service building.
