The Hearing Bus was frequented by community members young and old as the experienced audiologist Ligi Joseph checked their hearing.
Ms Joseph said the bus went well.
The bus usually visits specific sites around town, but last week it was parked in council's car park for all members of the public.
"We go to the nursing home, pharmacy, CWA and the Men's Shed," she said.
Ms Joseph said hearing checks were very important particularly for the elderly.
"People get a chance to have a hearing health check," she said.
"The bus gives support and raises awareness."
Ms Joseph also organises follow-up appointments for pensioners who need it.
"If we know they've got hearing loss we make an appointment for a specialist in Dubbo," she said.
"As we get older, above the age of 50, there's a high chance of hearing loss, especially in this day and age where there is lots of noise.
"We get people earlier so they're hearing isn't too bad."
The bus is an ideal way for locals to get their hearing checked as the closest specialist is in Dubbo.
"When we come in there is just a laptop and a specialist sees them," Mrs Joseph said.
The Hearing Bus also goes to Wellington, Coonabarabran, Coonamble, Warren, Tottenham and Nyngan.
The Hearing Bus is a State Government initiative.
