Led by incumbent chair Dr Mary Corbett and CRDC's executive director Bruce Finney, the CRDC's board will also comprise former directors Cleave Rogan and Dr Michael Robinson, past director Kathryn Adams and new directors Liz Alexander and Greg Kauter.
Dr Corbett welcomed the directors who come from a diverse range of backgrounds across the cotton, agriculture and commercial sectors.
"The role of CRDC is to invest in research, development and extension (RD&E) on behalf of cotton growers and the Australian Government," Dr Corbett said.
"One of the great strengths of the CRDC board has long been its diversity of directors who bring to the table a range of skills to help drive the organisation forward. Today's announcement is no exception.
"I welcome Cleave, Michael and Kathryn back to the CRDC board, and Liz and Greg to the board for the first time. I look forward to working with the directors over the coming years to ensure CRDC continues to achieve strong outcomes on behalf of growers, the government and the wider industry.
"Our role in working with the industry to set and invest in research priorities is critical - ensuring our industry remains profitable, sustainable and competitive into the future.
"Cotton RD&E is a great success story - over the past decade alone, cotton has increased its water use efficiency by 40 per cent and decreased its insecticide use by 95 per cent thanks to RD&E - and CRDC is proud to play a pivotal role in this," Dr Corbett said.
Dr Corbett also paid tribute to CRDC's outgoing board, whose term finished on September 30.
"I thank outgoing deputy chair Hamish Millar and directors Dr Lorraine Stephenson and Richard Haire for their contribution to the board and the cotton industry over the past three years," Dr Corbett said.
"The focus for the new board will be to ensure the cotton industry is well prepared to capitalise on the opportunities and overcome the challenges ahead. I look forward to working with my fellow CRDC directors to achieve this," Dr Corbett said.
CRDC is the Australian cotton industry's RD&E investment body, jointly funded by Australian cotton growers and the Australian Government.
