Changes to Level Rail Crossings in Trangie
John Holland has advised changes have been made to the speed of freight trains travelling through the level crossings in the Trangie area. Please note trains may travel through these crossings at speeds up to 100km/h and motorists need to be mindful of complying with stop signs and ensuring it is safe to cross before proceeding through the level crossing.
Recent Incidents:
Late report: Between October 23 and October 24 offenders have entered a closed, but unlocked, detached garage on a property on Farrendale Road, Narromine. They have stolen a Stihl leaf blower and a Dolmar chainsaw.
About 3.30pm on November 19 an 18-year-old man was detected driving whilst his licence was suspended. He will appear at Narromine Local Court at a date to be fixed.
About 4.30pm on November 17 a grass fire ignited in a paddock of a property on the Peak Hill Road, Narromine as a result of a bulldozer being used in the dry and hot conditions. The operator of the bulldozer extinguished the fire quickly using the bulldozer and, believing the fire had been put out, left the location. It is believed the fire continued to smoulder and reignited and spread quickly. A number of RFS crews, as well as Narromine Fire & Rescue responded to quickly bring the fire under control, with Fire and Rescue NSW providing "property protection" to the surrounding homes. Fire crews spent about an hour patrolling and extinguishing the fire. The fire spread into a wheat crop causing an estimated $10,000 loss.
On November 12 police attended a premises in A'Beckett St, Narromine where they recovered a Nissan Patrol stolen from a rural property on the Warren Road on November 9. Police conducted a search of the premises and vehicle recovering firearms suspected of being stolen and a quantity of ammunition, amongst other items. Police arrested a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male who were both charged with a number of offences. The investigation is ongoing.
Between about 6pm on November 12 and 5pm on November 15 unknown offenders have stolen a submergible bore pump from a property on the Warren Road. The owner of this property has been the victim of theft of a quantity of power tools over recent times.
Between 6pm on November 12 and 6pm on November 15 unknown offenders have stolen about 200 litres of diesel fuel from a grader parked and left unattended on a property on Farrendale Road, Narromine.
Between October 31 and November 9 unknown offenders have stolen a hat, alcohol, a tool box and quantity of cash from a rural property on Dappo Road, Narromine.
Between about 7pm on November 14 and 8am on November 15 unknown offendrs have entered the premises of Dubbo Field & Game located on the Tantitha Road, Narromine and stolen two golf carts and a quantity of alcohol. The golf carts have been recovered and forensically examined. The scene was also forensically examined. A number of fingerprints and DNA samples have been obtained and are currently being analysed.
Between 9.30am and 1pm on November 13 unknown offenders have entered a residential property on Dappo Road, Narromine and stolen a male python.
Some time between September 8 and November 12 unknown offenders have forced entry to a telephone exchange located in the vicinity of Gin Gin. Once inside they have opened a number of steel cabinets and disconnected power before stealing an airconditioning unit from the building. The building has been forensically examined and enquiries are continuing.
Between 5pm on November 7 and 3pm on November 8 unknown offenders have entered a rural property on Dandaloo Road, Narromine and removed the keys to a vehicle owned by the occupier. The occupier, realising the theft of the keys, removed the battery from the vehicle. The offenders have stolen a KTM trailbike and about 450 litres of diesel fuel. Following this incident the offender/s have returned and stolen the vehicle by obtaining another battery and fitting it to the vehicle. The scene has been forensically examined and a number of exhibits seized for forensic examination. The vehicle was found burnt out on the Peak Hill Road about 4.30am on November 11. Enquiries are continuing.
Between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on November 8 unknown offenders have entered a rural property on Dandaloo Road, Narromine where they have accessed and closed, but unlocked, farmhouse. The offender/s have forced open a gun safe and stolen three firearms.
The scene has been forensically examined and enquiries are continuing.
