The latest police report provided to The Narromine News and Trangie Advocate reveals nine break and enters and five failed break and enters in the shire from Thursday, March 12 to Friday, March 27.
Community groups, local businesses, schools, homes and vehicles have been indiscriminately targeted in a spate of petty crimes.
Beryl McDonell of the Mudyigalang Ladies craft group said the Shire needs more police.
"We want the kids off the street late at night," she said.
"We need them (the police) late at night. (The culprits) roam the streets after hours and a couple of extra police until midnight isn't going to solve it."
The Mudigalang Ladies' are based out of the Railway Station. They have been targeted in vandalism and break and enters over recent months.
"We've been broken into before. They took all the bikkies and some coffee," group member Kay Triplett said.
The not-for-profit organisation is then left with a hefty clean up bill of broken windows and locks or they face their insurance premiums going up.
"We can't claim it on insurance, they only take claims in excess of $500," group member Janice Burns said.
Majority of the Mudigalang Ladies agree more police officers would be better than CCTV cameras.
Ms Triplett believes cameras have their place as well.
"If they know the cameras are going to be there they're not going to pose," she said.
"This town seems to be going backwards."
Local business owner Karri Brennan commented on Facebook more needs to be done.
"(We need) more police, but those police need to be on duty around the clock," she commented.
"While CCTV is helpful, it's not good when these people doing the break-ins wear balaclavas and hide their faces.
"Ideally I'd like to see our community have both, but in reality I doubt that's going to happen any time soon. So, if I had to choose I'd rather know we have more police on duty 24/7 than CCTV 24/7."
