Animal Shelter News - Council is pleased to advise that the re-homing rate is currently at 33% for the year, 47% have been returned to owners with the remainder having to be euthanised due to poor health, unsuitability for re-homing or being declared as a dangerous dog. Whilst this is good news, the number of dog attacks that have occurred over the past few months is a concern for Council and as such Council wishes to remind dog owners that it is their responsibility to ensure that their dog does not escape or leave their premises and if your dog is in a public space that they are on a lead.
