Every year there are many new release roses and this year a beautiful red shrub rose was released to mark the Anzac Gallipoli Centenary.
This modern shrub rose was carefully selected to commemorate one of the most significant moments in Australia’s history, the Gallipoli Centenary in 2015.
The Gallipoli Centenary Rose project was initiated in 2010 by the Anzac Day Commemorative Committee in conjunction with Treloar Roses.
“This is our chance to give the people of Australia an opportunity to have a beautiful reminder of this memorable milestone in Australia’s history, right in their very own gardens.
With funds raised, the ADCC Qld Inc will be able to continue with its main objective of commemorating our fallen heroes and to honour our surviving veterans,” said Arthur Burke, President ADCC Qld Inc.
The Gallipoli Centenary Rose is a dense bush rose that will grow to a height of 1.2m. It will produce large, deep red clusters of blooms, flowering over a long period, on a lovely, exceptionally diseaseresistant plant.
A perfect rose for an informal hedge or as a single specimen in a cottage garden.
Treloar roses donates $1 from the sale of each rose to the ADCC Qld Inc to assist in the Anzac education of school children and war veterans’ projects.
