The knitters of Nyngan, Trangie, Cobar and Narromine have responded magnificently to an annual appeal to knit or crochet squares and join them together to make a “wrap” for under-privileged women.

The wraps are sent to many countries and parts of Australia and the demand remains very high.
Our local ladies have provided 131 wraps and a large bag of squares to be joined to make the finished product. This means 3668 squares have been produced in a variety of colours to make colourful wraps.
The bag contains more than 500 ready to be joined.
Many NSW Rotary clubs operate as collection points for the Wrap with Love service, co-ordinated in Sydney by the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove.
More than 430,000 wraps have been despatched to needy people.
The project began in 1992 by Sonia Gidley-King and her friends as an idea to use up leftover knitting yarn and the first container was sent to Mozambique.
ABC radio has been great supporters of the project, offering rooms to conduct knit-ins. Many thanks to the regional ladies, for their great knitting and crocheting effort during the winter of 2015.
