An automated external defibrillator (AED) worth about $3000 has been donated to the centre by the Narromine Men’s Shed.
Community Health Centre Nurse Unit Manager Jessica Ceeney said early defibrillation is vital.
“The closest is in the emergency unit at the hospital,” she said.
“The Men’s Shed are now allowing us the possibility of providing early defibrillation.
“It makes a massive difference. It can be the difference between life and death...and anyone can use it.”
The money was raised from sales of second-hand furniture and donated goods at the Men’s Shed.
“We want to give back to the community because we get so much from the community,” Men’s Shed president Keith Richardson said.
