Stage Leader and Leadership Coordinator Gurmit Thakur said the program, which was designed to teach the basics of business and entrepreneurship, was a great success.
“This student driven project saw participants developing business ideas to address real world challenges. While the students learnt what it takes to start up a business, more importantly, they also learnt about communication, collaboration, working under pressure and problem solving,” she said.
Groups were created by mixing students from Years 6 to 8 from different schools based on a shared solution to given social issues such as supporting farmers, fighting against animal cruelty and youth unemployment. Students developed a range of business solutions that had to be viable and support their cause.
