Ella Havelka, formerly from Dubbo, says getting the opportunity to perform in her hometown at the Dubbo Regional Theatre will be like a dream come true.

Ms Havelka, is part of the Australian Ballet, and in October they will be performing the legendary show Giselle, as part of its 2017 regional tour.
Since its creation in 1841, Giselle has captured the hearts of audiences all over the world with its heartbreaking love story, famous mad scene, sea of ghostly white tutus and impressive display of ballet technique.
“I desperately wanted to dance at the theatre.. and the opportunity finally came up,” Ms Havelka said.
“It’ll be something I can tick off my bucket list.”
Ms Havelka has kept busy, not only with performances in Giselle, but also at Melbourne performing Alice in Wonderland.
Currently based in Melbourne, she says she enjoys keeping busy.
“Though it’ll be nice to come back out and see the country life,” she said.
Ms Havelka says she was looking forward to having the opportunity to catch up with family from Narromine and her friends in Dubbo while she’s in town.
After the Australian Ballet’s regional tour wraps up, Ms Havelka will head to Sydney to start work on Sleeping Beauty.
“There will be no rest just yet until the end of the year when we have a break,” she said.
Since 1982, The Australian Ballet Regional Tour, formerly known as The Dancers Company, has brought the enchanting and transformative experience of ballet to communities across Australia.
The tour showcases the artistry and technical skills of artists of The Australian Ballet and graduating students of The Australian Ballet School.
The Dubbo show will be at the DRTCC on Friday, October 13 at 7:30pm and Saturday, October 14 at 1:30pm.
Get a sneak peek into what life is like for dancers on the Saturday at 12pm, where audiences will have the opportunity to watch what goes on ‘behind-the scenes’.
In 2017 the tour is expected to reach over 11,000 people in regional locations through performances and community engagement activities.
