The New Residents Night was a huge hit in the past and returns this Thursday, February 22 at Soul Food Design Depot and Gallery from 6pm to 7pm.
All new comers living in Trangie, Tomingley and Narromine are encouraged to attend the event and to enjoy a great night out.
“It is a perfect opportunity for new residents to meet others in the same circumstances,” Narromine Shire mayor Craig Davies said.
“It’s a great initiative and just an opportunity for people who are new to town to come along and meet some of the councillors, learn about the town, where they can get things from, meet other people in the town and generally feel welcomed by council so they know we genuinely care about the fact that they have made the move to our town.
“It is really important that new residents feel welcome in the community and understand the great opportunities available here.”
Community groups have been invited to attend the event to encourage participation in volunteer-based groups.
The New Residents Night will be held annually across the shire.
