Program: Fun for everyone at Nyngan Ag Expo

THE success of events such as the Nyngan Ag Expo is down to the hardworking committee members and equally important sponsors.

Energy giant AGL, which operates the landmark solar farm at Nyngan, is again the naming rights sponsor for the 26th Nyngan Ag Expo.

This year there is a little bit of something for everybody, and that’s how the committee envisaged it from the very beginning.

The event is shaping up to become the best ever, with more than 250 exhibitors including more than 30 new exhibitors.

A rock climbing wall for both the young and the young-at-heart will entertain, and there are three new vendors in the Aussie Country Catering  Food & Wine Marquee.

The AGL Nyngan Ag Expo drew record crowds in 2015, with thousands enjoying the chilly sunshine and exhibitions.

Despite the weather gods testing the resolve of everybody with a chilly wind and glorious sunshine, nearly 4000 patrons attended and provided a great atmosphere for well over 250 site-holders.

“This annual event has helped to put Nyngan on the map as a place to visit and is a great credit to all those who have worked hard through the years to build the status of this event to its present level,” said organiser Robyn Harris.

Chairman Rod Dewhurst described the event as one for the community as a whole.

“It’s not just the event that benefits from the day, it’s also most of the businesses, the motels and hotels are all booked out, service stations and food markets have influx of patrons,” he said after last year’s event.

”The effort put in by the committee and the volunteers was phenomenal and added much to the smooth running of the event. “

There will be something for all ages, including free live country entertainment by local Royden Donohoe near the Aussie Country Catering Food & Wine Marquee and craft activities for the kids including the always popular Animal Nursery which was packed with excited young children for most of the day.

Exhibitors take a vast array of products and services from the latest in farming techniques and technology from solar energy to fencing construction through to craft and good food and wine products.

“It’s hard to imagine there would be an event with a bigger range of products available than at this year’s expo,” Mrs Harris said.

For the professional farmer the expo has the latest equipment, tractors, implements, and equipment.

Technical information will be available from providers in pasture management, weed control and livestock breeds.

Equipment and advice for small to medium sized farms is well provided for.

A wide range of specialist retailers and providers are on hand with the labour-saving gear you need.

Rural living needs such as pumping, water storage, fencing, weed control, sheds, vehicles of all types, building, heating advice and much more are available at the expo.

The ICPA fashion parade is a chance to see the latest clothing and accessories for leisure work and play. The parade features clothing and accessories from exhibitors, so you can follow up the parade with a visit to an exhibitor.

The Car Show ‘n’ Shine is a big drawcard and includes vehicles that have been successful in winning awards at the Sydney Car Show.
