Construction is about to start on the first section of Inland Rail, between Parkes and Narromine, and the ARTC are hosting business and supplier briefing sessions to share opportunities available for local businesses.

Inland Rail is the largest freight rail infrastructure project in Australia. The Parkes to Narromine (P2N) section is the first part of Inland Rail to be built.
Between Parkes and Narromine there will be an upgrade of 98.4 kilometres of existing rail track and the construction of 5.3 kilometres of new rail track.

Construction-related activities on this section are planned to start in September 2018, with work expected to be completed by mid-2020.
After a competitive tender process the ARTC has selected INLink, a joint venture between BMD Constructions and Fulton Hogan, as their construction contractor to deliver the P2N project.
During the peak of construction, there will be up to 200 people working on the project, with local businesses and suppliers offered opportunities to work on the Inland Rail.

- Concrete pumps
- Concrete cutting
- Crane hire
- Drilling for water bores
- Containers and site offices
- Concreters
- Electricians and power relocation
- Earthmoving
- Fuel supplies
- Temporary fencing
- Tree loppers
- Rural fencing
- Quarries
- Security guards
- Liquid waste
- Stormwater drainage
The ARTC are hosting briefing sessions for suppliers and businesses to come and meet the team and find out more about what they are looking for and how you may be able to work with them.
An information session will be held in Narromine on Tuesday, August 14 at Soul food from 8am until 10am.
Another will be held in Parkes on Monday, August 14 at the Parkes Astro Dish from 5.30pm unitl 7.30pm and another in Dubbo on Tuesday, August 14 at the Dubbo Golf Club from 5.30pm until 7.30pm.
