Emergency services were called to the property on Morris road, west of the Narromine Aerodrome, when the blaze broke out at about 3.30pm on Saturday, August 18.
A full contingent of services including Fire and Resuce (RFS) NSW Narromine and Dubbo, six Rural Fire Service trucks, hazmat from Dubbo, police and Essential Energy were called to the property.
Detectives are yet to investigate but the blaze appears to have started in the kitchen.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said the property suffered extensive damage to the house and contents.
Volunteer firefighter with the Bungendore RFS Pete Morris thanked the Narromine RFS for their work protecting the home via the Narromine 401 Fire and Rescue Facebook page.
“I must say, I’m very impressed with the work you did on saving that house,” Mr Morris’ post said.
“Stopping the fire extension in the roof space after the flute without it starting something in one of the rooms is no small feat.”
“Some very impressive work by you guys and the local RFS that turned up,” he concluded.
