Up to 1500 children can attend this year’s Narromine Show free of charge thanks to the Narromine Shire Council.

On Monday August 20, 1500 children will receive free entry, valued at $7500, to encourage more people to attend the local Show.
“The extra sponsorship from Council will hopefully encourage more parents to attend the Show,” Narromine Show Society President Bill Gibbs said.
“The Show Society cannot thank the council enough for helping to promote the 2018 Narromine Show,” he said.
Shire Mayor Cr Craig Daives said the council are happy to be supporting the local event, especially during tough times.
The Narromine Show is a local event that has been running for many decades, it highlights the towns local producers and businesses and helps to bring the community together.
The family friendly event includes activities from livestock parades and showjumping to scarecrow, art and craft, preserve and baking competitions. There are yard dog trials, speed sheering and ute compeitions as well as the normal sideshow activities for all.
“The additional support is a thank you to the community for supporting Council and its facilities,” Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager Jane Redden said.
“Council has recognised an increased usage in Council facilities including the Sports Centre, sporting programs and parks and would like to reward to community for its support,” she said.
The Narromine Show is on Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1 at the Narromine Showground and Racecourse on Dappo Road.
