As high school formal season approaches, it seems as if it’s just one more cost some can’t wear.
However Dresses for the Drought, run by two sisters Anita Guytt and Tashoni Hardy, are doing their bit to help provide beautiful dresses and suits for young Australians in drought affected areas, so that they can feel great on their special day.
This weekend Dresses for the Drought will be at the Narromine High School to provide free dresses and suits for Year 12 students in the region.
Year 12 students from as far West as Dunedoo to Bourke are invited to check out the gowns, dresses, clutches and suits, which are of immaculate quality and on trend, many of which still have price tags attached.
Narromine High School have told the Narromine News it is just “heartwarming” and “such a lovely initiative” and that the duo aren’t asking for any money, and are simply wanting to help any way they can.
The school are encouraging Year 12 students and their parents from across the west to come along and have a look this weekend.
To further help drought-stricken farmers a stall will be set up for anyone wishing to make a donation to buy a bale.
The group are asking anyone who wishes to donate any gowns or suits in good working condition, and of all sizes can bring them along this Saturday and Sunday.
Dresses for the Drought will be at the Narromine Multipurpose Hall on this Saturday, August 25 between 12 and 4pm and on Sunday, August 26 between 9am and 12pm.
