Ms Hilder has been coordinating the trivia night each year for the past four years as a thank you to the group for the support they have shown not only to her – as a breast cancer survivor, but also to her mother Valerie Edmunds.
Ms Hilder said her mother is currently and successfully fighting bone and lung cancer, returning from breast cancer 13 years ago and has said support in the past year from the Narromine Cancer Support Group has been wonderful.
“We both are recovering from Breast Cancer, and mum is now fighting lung and bone cancer. The support of the Narromine Cancer Support Group has been wonderful,” Ms Hilder said.
“Mum receives phone calls and visits from Mrs Judy Barlow on a regular basis, asking if there is anything she needs and what else can the help with,” she said.
To help repay the generosity that has been given, Angela and her family continue to support the Bowling club with the annual event.
“It is a valuable group for our current needs, and we need to continue to have the funds to be available to new and existing patients,” Ms Hilder said.
The monthly trivia night will be held at the Narromine Bowling Club on Tuesday, September 18.
Cost is $10 per person, and tables can be booked at the club.
