Upgrades include a new defibrillator, that will also be accessed by users of the Memorial Hall, shed improvements, five pendant power outlets over work benches, tools and equipment.
Men’s Sheds in Western New South Wales including Garwin Glengarry Sheepyard Opalfield and the Warren Men’s Shed will share in more than $15,000 to support men’s health and wellbeing.

“I’ll be the first to admit that men can sometimes be the last ones to prioritise their health and wellbeing. We need to do what we can to ensure they get the support they need, which is why I always encourage men to drop in to their local shed,” Mr Coulton said.
“Becoming a member of a Men's Shed provides a safe environment and an atmosphere of old-fashioned mateship. They are a great place for everyone to take an interest in their own health. These three sheds are deserving recipients of funding to boost their valuable services to the community, and I congratulate them on their success.”
Heath Minister Greg Hunt said feeling part of a social group is important to our emotional and mental health. “Every day Men’s Sheds across Australia and in the Parkes electorate provide men with an opportunity for companionship and support within their community,” Minister Hunt said.
The Coalition Government is investing a total of $5.1 million over three years to the national Men’s Sheds movement. The Men’s Shed grants program provides funding of up to $10,000 for health improvement activities, the purchase of tools and equipment, community projects and training, and for building maintenance and development.
