Sassy Styles Hairdressing turn pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month

Many stopped at the salon to get their hair cut, dye their hair pink or simply grab a coffee and pink waffle to raise money for breast cancer research. 

“It’s been fabulous. We’ve been really busy and there’s pink everywhere,” Owner Cassie Lewis said.

Owner of the Vintage Whisk Away van Michelle Hill was also on board to support the cause serving up pink treats.

“It’s amazing, the support from the locals has been phenomenal,” Ms Hill said.

“I’ve sold all the cupcakes and the pink waffles have been really popular,” she said.

While Ms Hill has only had the van for just over four months she said she saw Ms Lewis’ advertisement and thought it was a great cause to jump on board with.

“Any type of cancer is really close to home,” Ms Hill said.

“[Brest cancer] can affect anyone,” she said.  

The salon was also visited by founder of Pink Angels Donna Falconer and her Groovy Booby Bus donating some of her books to the raffle, spreading breast cancer information and sharing her cancer story. 

Ms Lewis also travelled to Sydney over the weekend to participate in the 24-hour breast cancer walk. 

“It was amazing but I’m feeling it now I finished up doing 22 hours of walking and almost 95,330 steps,” she said.

Next year Ms Lewis hopes to beat her record.
