President Andy Mackinnon said he was very happy with the event with gate numbers up from the previous year. 

"It went really well, our numbers were up a fraction from last year, which was great," he said.

"It's just been such a great family day out with the kids.

"Even though it was hot everyone got through it and enjoyed themselves immensely.

"The racing was very competitive, we started 46 horses so we had a really good day all up."

He said it was beneficial that the annual meeting landed on the same day as the state election drawing a larger crowd. However he was hopeful the event would continue to grow. 

Guests were treated to a barbecue luncheon, with kids entertained by a jumping castle.

Mr Mackinnon said prize money for non-TAB race meetings had increased, which helped country racing. 

This year it was the $2.50 favourite Wollartant ridden by Ashleigh Stanley and trained by Justin Stanley, which took out the top prize for the day leading all the way in the 1400 metre Three Rivers Machinery Gold Cup.

"It was nice to have a local horse win the cup," Mr Mackinnon said.

"Justin also trained the last race winner too, Incision, so he claimed a double for the day."

Coming in second was Sharon Jefferies Rehanaat and in third was Rodney Robb's Rusty Motorbike.

Guests also gathered around television screens to witness record-breaking mare, Winx secure her 32 consecutive win at the Golden Slipper in Rosehill.

"Of course we would like to thank our major sponsors Three Rivers Machinery and all our other minor sponsors who support us for the year," Mr Mackinnon said.

"Without sponsorship its hard to race in the bush. But it's still alive and well, and It's very nice to have all these people come on board with it all."
