This year to mark the occasion the Narromine Shire Council will be celebrating Seniors Day on Thursday, April 11 with a Narromine Aviation Museum morning tea and tour.
Shire General Manager Jane Redden said the day is important for the entire community to recognise the contribution they make to the community.

"Our seniors are often our community volunteers, they have been a part of our community for a long time, they have often been our community leaders, business people and led our community organisations," she said.
"They are our family and community elders, and made our community what it is today. We thank our Seniors for their past and continuing role in our community."
Each year the shire alternate seniors activities between Trangie and Narromine, however this year Ms Redden said they are celebrating with a morning tea and free tour of the Aviation Museum, one of the shire's main attractions.
"The Aviation Museum provides an insight into the history of the Narromine region and brings our past stories to life for the benefit of our local community and the many visitors to our shire," she said.
"All Seniors across the Shire are invited to join together to enjoy a morning out, catch up with friends, enjoy a tour of the Museum and have morning tea with the mayor and councillors."
A bus will depart Trangie Library at 9.15am, returning at 12 noon. Bookings for the bus are essential, and residents may book a seat by phoning the council.
Seniors are requested to RSVP to Council on 6889 9999 by Thursday, April 4.
