Approximately 500 people from across central west NSW attended a street party in the small town of Gulargambone recently.

The party was held to launch the 'Window Way 2828' art beautification project where the CBD's shopfronts received a colour makeover.
The project was undertaken by the Gulargambone Community Enterprises Co-Operative, to enhance run-down, empty shops on Bourbah street, to make them attractive, purposeful and drive traffic into the town.
People came from as far as Tamworth, Orange and Sydney.

Project Manager Eliza Walters said the launch street party was well supported, which was seen in the huge crowds and various stall holders selling out of goods.
"All of the workshops and demonstrations went really well... it was a great day, everyone got involved," she said.
As well as visitors and locals, the artists who helped beautify the shopfronts in Gulargambone attended.
"Lots of people had heard about it and people who used to live in Gulargambone came back... as they wanted to see what's new in their town," she added.
The shops have received a bold new colour-scheme of bubble gum pink, salmon orange and mint green, which Ms Walters said helps lift the whole street and gives them a new purpose.
Last year Gulargambone held a four-day street art festival called 'Pave The Way To Gular' festival, where ten renowned artists created murals on the town's water-tower, walls and footpaths.
Ms Walters said they plan to hold another festival in 2020.
In the meantime local are encouraged to vote for the Gulargambone Community Enterprises Co Op highway signage project under the NSW Government's 'My Community Project'.
The aim of the project is to encourage people to shop locally. Votes close August 15.
