Last week was a big one for the Dubbo electorate, headlined by a visit from the NSW Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women, The Hon Bronnie Taylor MLC.

The Minister announced that $750,000 would be given to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) to enhance the Peer Ambassador program they offer to communities in isolated areas of NSW affected by drought. The program is a partnership with Lifeline Broken Hill Country to Coast.
She also engaged with some of the wonderful organisations in our region that work in the areas covered by her portfolios, culminating with an event organised by Bruno Efoti and his organisation Tradies In Sight.
The Minister's visit is also a good opportunity for me to remind groups in the region that applications are currently open for the Stronger Country Communities Fund, and as part of this round of the program at least 50 per cent of the funding will benefit youth-based organisations.

Supporting Veterans
Applications in the latest round of funding to protect historical war memorials and support activities that enhance veteran's wellbeing are open.
A total of $175,000 is available for projects across the state through the NSW Government's Community War Memorials Fund and the Anzac Community Grants Program.
It's important the service and sacrifice of current and former NSW military personnel and our Anzac heritage, is remembered and protected in the community.
For this reason I encourage community groups, RSL sub-branches, schools and councils to apply before applications close on Remembrance Day.
The Community War Memorials Fund provides grants of up to $10,000 to protect, conserve and repair war memorials including statues, honour rolls and memorial halls which commemorate the Anzac legacy.
The Anzac Community Grants Project provides grants of up to $2,000 to schools, community organizations and veterans groups to recognise Australia's military service, educate a new generation and support the NSW veteran community.
MyHousing
A new social housing app developed for tenants and applicants will slash paper work and improve customer service.
The MyHousing app is a simple way for housing tenants to manage their details and view their accounts, including rent and water, as well as make payments, lodge maintenance requests and view transaction records.
It is available for free download from the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
