Ms Attwater received the Chairman's Award for overall excellence in netball at the Western Region Academy of Sport (WRAS) annual presentation evening in Bathurst on Saturday night.
The evening recognised the substantial achievements of WRAS athletes, the hard working squad staff and the other valuable supporters and volunteers.
The 350 guests in attendance were delighted by MC Phil Cole who is a WRAS Life Member and general manager.
Attwater received the award not only for her demonstration and desire to succeed not only in netball, but in all aspects of her life.
According to her nomination Attwater plays numerous sports at local, school and representative levels. She is a quiet achiever who is dedicated and hardworking in all aspects of the WRAS program.
She was awarded the most valuable player in the WRAS division one team at Academy Games earlier this year and was also selected for the 16 years Western Rams league tag team.
Attwater has also assisted coaching with her school's first ever boy's netball team.
"She is a good natured young woman who always has a smile on her face and a willingness to assist others, she is compassionate and caring and recognises when others need support," her nomination read.
While the WRAS programs focus on skill development to aid athletes progress through their chosen sports to become 'great sports people', the academy believe it is important for athletes to also grow their life skills to become 'great people' overall.
Awards of this nature recognises the athlete's achievements in multiple aspects of their life such as their sport, school and community roles.
Mikelli Garratt (Cowra, AFL), Jonathan Limbrick (Bathurst, basketball, Kalinda Robinson (O'Connell, cycling), Ben Davis (Bathurst, golf) also received the Chairman's Award for overall excellence.
Daniel Barber of Dubbo was awarded the WRAS 2019 Athlete of the Year for his passion for cycling.
