Julie Kirk has joined the team in Narromine, after spending two-and-a-half years as the manager of a hospital in the Kimberly region of Western Australia.
"I am really looking forward to becoming part of the Narromine community," Ms Kirk said.
"The majority of my working life has been in NSW, I was also born in NSW.
"So coming back to Narromine, feels like coming home."
Ms Kirk is trained as a registered nurse and midwife, and has been in a number of management roles throughout her career so far.
"I am excited to be leading the Narromine Health Service. I am interested to understand what their health are and how I can as the Health Manager assist in providing the community with a safe and reliable health service," she said.
"I believe in innovation to improve how we can best deliver health care to our community and I am very excited to be taking on this new opportunity."
The WNSWLHD Central Sector General Manager, Meegan Connors said it's "fabulous" to have someone with her wealth of experience in joining their team.
"Julie brings a fresh set of eyes and a passion for health to not only Narromine but the whole Local Health District," Ms Connors said.
"Julie has extensive experience in working in rural and remote hospitals. This has included the use of virtual health and working with aboriginal patients and communities."
To welcome Julie to the Narromine Health Service, an afternoon was held at the Health Service.
Hospital Auxiliary members, local doctors, Narromine Shire Council Mayor, Craig Davies, Narromine Shire general manager, Jane Redden and longtime Narromine Doctor Robert Kirkby attended and gave Ms Kirk a very warm welcome to the town.
