Sunday Mornings chook run had a few more participants, 16 players actually with the trio of Annette Lincoln, Des Lincoln and Steve Buttsworth taking home the lion's share of the loot on offer courtesy of a tidy 22/10 win over Barb, Neil and Bill. The runners up Cheque went to the Duo of Don Sullivan and Peter Payne who had a solid win 18/12 over "Puddy" and "Beaver".

Again just for the record, the other rink result saw Clifton Harris, Lionel Ayoub, and David McNair just sneak over the line 13/12 against Richard, Bob, and Mick.

With the bowls season over we move along to Presentation Day and next year's Pennants, two events that have been posted on the notice board for members to peruse and "PLONK" their name down if necessary or so inclined.

Presentation Day this year will be on Sunday, December 22 kicking of with social bowls at 10am.

Trophies for this morning competition will be supplied by the Fat Black, Pelican and no doubt will be well worth winning. A sausage sizzle Luncheon will follow at approximately 12.30pm, with the awarding of the annual Trophies programmed for approximately 2pm.

Please support this day in some fashion, even if it is only attending the Luncheon and or Presentation Session. It is important we acknowledge our champions by our presence if nothing else.

Whilst the pennant season doesn't kick off till Late February, the Club needs to have at least 30 names on their nomination sheet so they can go forward with Plans for Trials etc.

So it is imperative to put your name on the Nomination sheet before Mid-December so we can put these plans in place with confidence.

The Club Hosted its final Trivia Night for 2019 Last Tuesday with the Night raising some $1000.00 for the Narromine Lions Club, who was the nominated local charity organisation this night, was programmed for.

A Big thank you to all who have supported these nights in 2019 and hopefully come February 2020 we can do it all again. The Winners on the Night were the "Odd Bunch" with "Something Simple" the runners up on a countback from BRE-TAG.

"Another Crack" won the Baffler, whilst Ken Rumble from the "Mixed Bag" team was the last man standing in the Heads or Tails Contest.

We have a heap of special raffles and events happening in December kicking off with a selection of mystery prizes as part of our Thursday night faffle on December 5.

Bar Fridges, Canoes, and Fire Pits are just some of the possible prizes to be won.

Then, of course, the following two Thursday night raffles will be "not the normal fair" because on Thursday, December 12 instead of the usual prizes it will be instead 25 hams to be won, and then on Thursday, December 19 it will be the Norm followed by the bonus schooner draw raffle, all in all over $2000.00 in prizes to be won.

So three terrific Thursdays to kick off the month. There will be end of month bonus draw will be held on Boxing Day Thursday, December 26.

New Years Eve will again feature Maurice and his Karaoke, which has proven popular in the past. So if you have no plans for New Year's Eve, why not come along.

Win for green

Last Thursday there were eleven hardy golfers who faced the starter for the weekly Gerries nine hole golf competition played at the Narromine course in rather warm but pleasant golfing conditions.

Once again the scores were pretty good with Ron Green returning a score of 24 stableford points to take the major prize on the day.Green is a very consistent golfer and deserved his win.Malcolm Fraser with a score of 22 points took second place an a count back from Bob Fletcher and Mal Richardson who each recorded 22 points in a traffic jam at the top of the leader board.Well played to all.Mal Richardson took the NTP prize and cleaned out the jackpot kitty.Once again Terry Willis won the NAGA prize with a score of 15 points.

Following the golf presentations there was only one game in the pool competition between Terry Willis and Mal Richardson against Bob Fletcher and Norm Lewis.This was a tough game which took a long time to declare a winner as there was some very poor choice o shots.In the end victory went to Willis and Richardson who became the weekly champs.

The ladies have decided to play their own comp on Saturday mornings and last week the winner was Wendy Jeffery with 27 points from Carol McDonald on 23.There was no NTP winner so the prize will jackpot to next week.

To morrow afternoon the men will again play their comp with the hit off at 4.00 p.m. See you all at the 19th.

The winners of the Tuesday Business Competition were Deep Divots with 102 points.

The individual winners were Shane Wallace 31 points Rob Samuels 27 points, Reg McPherson 27 points, M.Gordon 26 points, Josh Barlow 24 points, Neil Fitzgerald 24 points, Bob Richardson 23 points, Scott White 23 points.

Nearest the pin winners were Bill Gibbs third, Chad Jacobson ninth, Peter Tresder tenth and Gus Smith 17th.

There were 97 starters.

On Saturday we played a 4BBB sponsored by Russell Young and Rob Hunt.

The winners were Jamie McKinnon and Tony Harding with 45 points on a count-back from the runners up Ron Green and Brian Masling.

Nearest the pins were won by Jamie McKinnon on the ninth and Tony Harding on the tenth.

On Sunday there was a 4B aggregate sponsored by the Golf Club.

There were 18 Starters with the winners being Alex Sambrook and Mitch Smith with 77 points.

Runners up were Rob Williams and Tony Mann with 75 points. Rob Williams and Budd Cape took home the nearest the pins.

The AGM is on Thursday, November 28 from 7pm

Next week we have a 4BBB and Multiplier on Saturday and a two person Ambrose on Sunday.

Chris and Dale Harding

While one of his stable stars Option was running third in Brisbane on Saturday, Queensland trainer Mick Attard was trackside at Cowra to see another of his team Gohan win the 950 metres Class 1 Handicap.

A former jockey, Attard who is based at Rockhampton has trained more than 120 winners and is presently considering establishing a satellite stable at Hawkesbury.

Owned by the trainers wife Sharon Attard and Christine Matton from Central Queensland who bred the four year old gelding, Gohan ( Tony Cavallo. $3.80 ) led most of the way at Cowra to beat the strong finishing Hez Arrived ( Jake Pracey-Holmes, $2 favourite ) by a length and a half with Spy's Shadow ( Chelsea Ings, $31 ) two lengths away third.

Fioravanti a long odds winner two starts back at Bathurst for Hawkesbury trainer Jacqueline Greentree was the first leg of a Cowra double for Tony Cavallo when winning the Raine & Horne Cowra Benchmark 50 Handicap over 1100 metres..

Noble Hussler sped to a sizeable lead but turning for home was headed by Fioravanti ( $6 ) which raced away to score by nearly three lengths from Bee Double Bee ( Wendy Peel,$3.50 ) and Waldo Waldorf ( Mathew Cahill,$2.30 fav.).

The two outsiders of the field, Ligny and Not So Wild fought out an exciting finish to the 950 metres Cowra Bowling Club Class 1 Handicap.

At the top of the straight Not So Wild Tony Cavallo, $12 ) took the lead from Lady Go Go but was overhauled in the last stride and beaten a half head by Ligny ( $21 ), well ridden by Tiffany Jeffries for her mother, Parkes trainer Sharon Jeffries.

The strongly fancied $1.40 favourite Freundin ( Brendan Ward ) settled off the pace and in the straight had every chance to win.

Sponsored by the Jack High Family Restaurant at Cowra Bowling Club, the 1700 metres Benchmark 50 Handicap featured an outstanding ride by Brendan Ward on the George Dimitropoulos, Tumbarumba trained Cowboy Hour.

From last of the four runners,Ward took advantage of an opening on the rails and urged his mount to the lead near the 600 metres and thereafter Cowboy Hour ( $2.30 fav.) maintained a clear advantage to win by over three lengths from debut maker Snazzy Chazzy ( Tony Cavallo, $2.60 ) and She's Reliable ( Rasit Yetimova ( $7 ).

Recent creditable runs in TAB company indicated the David Smith, Mudgee trained Rhythmo was close to a win and the $1.90 favourite ridden by Jake Pracey-Holmes was always travelling well in the lead when defeating Danish Hussar ( Mathew Cahill, $2.80 ) and Bycromac ( Tony Cavallo, $4.40 ) in the 1375 metres appropriately named Bugger The Drought Maiden Plate!

The annual get together for those involved or interested in racing is at Dubbo racecourse, commencing at 2.00pm. on Saturday.

All are welcome at this event which is a chance to enjoy a social day away from the pressures of a race meeting.

The Western Racing Association premiership presentations will also take place on the day.
