On Friday, Santa made a trip to Hermidale Public School where he donated a number of presents to the students.

Each year, with the help of the Hermidale CWA Santa visits the small school, located 44 kilometres west of Nyngan, and hosts a morning tea and lunch for the children and their teachers.

This year however as numbers are dwindle in the small village, the Central West Riders club and the Narromine Men's Shed donated to the CWA to help the event continue.

So far Santa has been visiting the students at Hermidale for seven years, but last year the social motorcycle club decided to jump on board with the event to help donate individual presents to the children.

This year they also donated a number of small toys and books to the school's library.

The Narromine Men's Shed also donated $100 to the CWA to help them provide a Christmas morning tea and lunch.

President of the Narromine Men's Shed and Central West Riders committee member, Ivan Littlehales said as the drought continues it was important to support communities in the region, who are often overlooked.

"We thought it was not only a way of promoting the clubs, but a chance for us to give back to the small community," he said.

"Town's like this often get overlooked."
