Treasurer of the USMC Line Dancing club, Mrs Reid presented a cheque of $200 to Narromine Fire and Rescue captain Ewen Jones at the station's practice drill on Monday, March 16.
Captain Jones thanked the group for their generous donation and said the money would go toward purchasing equipment.
"The USMC Line Dancing Ladies have been donating around $100 each year for the past 10 years or so," captain Jones said.
"These donations allow us to purchase many important items and pieces of equipment that are not included in our Station Budget from the NSW government.
He said some of the items and equipment purchased through these community donations included the community safety message board at the front of the fire station, a positive pressure ventilation fan and a metal detector.
"We are very lucky that The Narromine Men's Shed, Rotary, Lions, the Muyigalang Ladies and the now unfortunately closed Apex Club have also made donations for the same purposes," captain Jones said.
Monday evening's drill was also the first time retained firefighters wore their new Fire and Rescue NSW duty wear.
"The new duty wear is a much darker colour, better quality, and has the new Fire + Rescue NSW Logo on both the shirts and pants," captain Jones said.
"It's very light and comfortable, and makes us look very professional."
